Finally! A film that depicts Constantine as he is supposed khổng lồ be: a Brit; moreso, a Londoner Brit; a chain-smoking, foul-mouthed, demon-crushing bad-ass. This is precisely how I always imagined he would look and sound lượt thích were he somehow to lớn leap off the pages of the graphic novel.Interesting, the producers are, for the most part, the same as the ones who made the live-action TV series. Obviously, the distributors of the series kind of stabbed the producers in the back by insisting on the elimination of Constantine"s chain-smoking và foul mouth. & when it came khổng lồ the Reeve"s film, even his Brit persona & origin was eliminated. Bad call there.But this film hits all the nails on the head, perfectly. I can"t praise this film too much. It"s very well put together, meaning that the casting, the characters và the story are all in place. And these, of course, are always the basic foundation of any production. If these three elements are solidly build, you"ve got a winner; and this film is definitely a winner. The voice acting is especially good. Ryan, who stars in the live-action TV series, voices Constantine perfectly and believably. The supporting cast is also excellent. Everyone does a fantastic job of keeping you in the story from beginning khổng lồ end.I only wish the Reeve"s film & the TV series had been as well conceived and executed. They should have been; in fact, they could have been, considering all the meaty history they had from which to draw. There are a ton of good stories in the graphic novel series, many of which could be used lớn create a first-class film series or TV series. But you just can"t take the name, while eliminating all the fundamental character and locale details and call it Constantine. It won"t work.But in this case, they kept all those elements and came away with a real winner, faithful to the original material and concept. It deserves its 4-star đánh giá (the highest I usually give). Và I absolutely recommend this film. If you want lớn see Constantine as it was meant lớn be, this is the film for you.
